Biography

Gaelen Gilliland is a Broadway actress and singer who has worked professionally now for over 20 years. She has appeared on Broadway now for 15 years in shows such as:

WICKED (2005-2006 - Ensemble, Mdm. Morrible u/s), LEGALLY BLONDE (2007-2008 - Original Broadway Cast, Elle’s Mom/Whitney/Courtney, u/s Paulette/Vivienne/Enid, Cast Album, 2009 Tony Awards, MTV Recording, 2007 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade), 9 TO 5 (2009 - Original Broadway Cast, u/s Judy/Doralee/Missy/Margaret, Cast Album), HONEYMOON IN VEGAS (2015 - Ensemble/Ticket Agent/Joanne Klein, Original Broadway Cast, Cast Album, 2014 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade), KINKY BOOTS (2015-2019, Swing u/s Pat/Milan Stage Manager/Trish) and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS the Musical (2017-2018 Mayor of Bikini Bottom, Original Broadway Cast, Cast Album, 2019 Tony Awards, 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade).

Nationally, Gaelen has toured with SEUSSICAL the Musical (2003 - Mayzie LaBird, Original Cast of 1st National Tour), THE ADDAMS FAMILY (2012 - Alice Beineke, Replacement 1st National Tour), and MEAN GIRLS (2019-2020 - Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George, 1st National Tour Original Cast).

Regionally, Gaelen has worked on: FINDING NEVERLAND (2014 - Miss Bassett, u/s Mrs. du Maurier, out of town tryout at A.R.T.), GUYS AND DOLLS (Adelaide, Riverside Theatre and Carnegie Hall concert production starring Nathan Lane and Megan Mulally), HAIRSPRAY (Velma von Tussle, Music Theatre Wichita), 1776 (Abigail Adams, Connecticut Repertory Theatre), NEXT TO NORMAL (Diana, Holmdel Theatre, BroadwayWorld Best Actress), and more.

For Gaelen, teaching is a passion and she looks forward to helping young people and theatre enthusiasts hone their skills in the craft of theatre.


VOCAL TRAINING WITH GAELEN:

 

In each lesson you will start with a physical, mental and vocal warm-up to ready your instrument for singing and acting. Gaelen uses visualization keys to access your entire vocal instrument and body (head to toe) to achieve a healthy sound and quality. These techniques allow you to become your own vocal technician to attack any genre of song. As well, with her 30 years of professional performing experience, 15 years of work on Broadway, current knowledge about the musical theatre business and 10 years of honed teaching techniques, Gaelen will work with each individual student’s strengths and weaknesses to get RESULTS! ***Specializing in female belt and legit voices AND dramatic and comedic acting styles.***
